TARANADA
Taranada is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in Austin, Texas
Taranada cultivates arts deeply rooted and reflective of diverse traditional cultures and serves the disadvantaged, institutionally marginalized, underserved, and misrepresented communities of Texas and the globe while educating and raising awareness of the Romani (Gypsy) population. Roma retain an Indian genetic, cultural and linguistic heritage and remain a misunderstood and largely invisible community globally. Taranada engages with Texas and international icons to bring understanding of the Romani culture, erase romanticized myths, create funding streams, and engage them in community life through the prism of music and dance. Taranada’s wellbeing and leadership skill workshops are geared towards youth, in particular the diverse and disadvantaged and incarcerated youth.

hAmaro fest
hAmaro fest. celebrates the beauty of Romani-(Gypsy)-India Texas music and culture. We reunite the Romani and Indian people and cultures through the arts, creating workshops, concerts and educational program. The fest focuses on educating the genearl public about the history of the Romani people whose history and heritage goes way back to India from where their migrations began around the 10th century, arriving in Europe in the late 14th century. The Romani people were mistaken for being from Egypt by the Europeans from where the term "Gypsy" comes from. There were many other myths and misbeliefs over the centuries that lead to severe persecutions of the Romani people including slavery in the Balkans and Nazi holocaust. The Roma to the present day remain a deeply misunderstood community around the world. .

Flamenco India
Featuring dancers and musicians from Spain and India will be taking place in Austin, Texas
Purchase Tickets:
A spellbinding musical journey — and a story you've likely never heard. Flamenco India traces the deep Indian roots of Spain's Romani (Gypsy) flamenco tradition, uniting world-class dancers and musicians from both lineages in one electrifying night of rhythm, energy, and history brought to life.
Leading the guitar work is Romani flamenco virtuoso Chuscales Jose Valle ("Chusco") — raised in the caves of Sacromonte among a family of legendary flamenco musicians, and mentored personally by the great Paco de Lucía. He's joined by powerhouse Romani flamenco vocalist Jose Cortés of Almería, steeped in the tradition of flamenco's greatest names. Directing the production is Austin's own Oliver Rajamani, a pioneering force in Indian-flamenco fusion whose artistry moved Paco de Lucía himself to call it "beautiful, unique and historic."
The stage comes alive further with the thunderous footwork of Kathak dancer Labonee Mohanta, the passion of flamenco dancer Bianca Rodriguez, the soaring voice of Hindustani vocalist Ashwini Deshpande, composer/violinist Roberto Riggio, and a full ensemble of strings and percussion.
Two cultures. One ancient bloodline. A night of music history rarely told — and not to be missed.
